I wanted to rent my house on AirBnB.  I am a rule follower and wanted to make sure I crossed all the T's and dotted all the I's.  But I wasn't exactly sure how to go about it.  So, I thought I'd see if there were "experts" that could help me.

I picked Melissa because of her very fast, very thorough, very professional response.

After several discussions, and Melissa asking me all the right questions, we embarked on getting my house inspected and obtaining a short term rental license.

I was looking for Melissa's services because I needed help with the entire process of making an application for the Type B permit to run my vacation rental in the City of Portland. I wanted to make sure without a doubt that the application was written correctly, had all of the extra reports and documents that were needed. I felt that hiring a land consultant would better my chances at getting the permit in the least amount of time.  
Melissa spent many hours writing emails back and forth with me and also many phone conversations discussing the outline and details of my application. For the type B, a narrative must be written that is very specific to each property. She also coordinated with the other associated contractors that were needed to fulfill the application. In addition she was the main contract to the City planner. In the end I received my Type-B ASTR permit!

Melissa was our insurance policy when we were obtaining our Type B Permit.  The amount of work the city requires is daunting and after paying the application fees, the city can deny your permit without refund.  Hiring Melissa was a no brainer to ensure there were no delays, everything the city needed was included to their specifications, and we obtained our permit.  Melissa is very knowledgeable of the nuances to the permitting process and the verbiage the city is looking for to approve your permit.  Most people don't realize that writing the application is only 1 part of the permitting process.  She makes sure that all of the other pieces are in place and knows the best people in the city to hire to take care of all of the other components.  She is clear about what she will need from you and honest about how long the process will take. After she gets you your permit, her door doesn't close.  She will remind you of any yearly requirements the city might have and will continue to be there for you to answer any questions that may arise.  Hiring Melissa was money very well spent and I would highly recommend, to anyone that is interested in obtaining a short term rental permit, to hire her as your insurance policy as well!
